From Lady Lyles' Desk.....
One Monday
evening my husband and son returned home from a revival service. I was on my way to having a great time “counting
sheep”; exhausted from working two jobs (with children) you don’t have time for yourself or others. However, from
this incident I learned the Lord will give you strength to do the impossible when you don’t feel like you don’t
have an ounce of “go-go juice” in your body. These two great men in my life came in to get settled, and before
I was “out for the count” I immediately ran to greet them, kissing my husband, taking my son, and embracing them.
I thanked God they both made it through the day in this cold world. As my 6mth old son began to show his excitement to see
me by hitting me in the face, pulling at my hair and earrings, I got a breath of fresh air. God gave me that strength I spoke
of before and I stayed up for an extra hour spending time with my family, not thinking twice about being exhausted. It is
here I truly thank God for the little things. While giving me strength He showed
me through that beautiful bundle of joy not to let the ways of the world taint your image of the life Jesus gave, so
you could have life and enjoy it. Our son has been through a journey already and it’s only just begun. Yet,
he still has joy! Showing and teaching us that life is what you make it. Thank God for the long sleepless nights because He
said in his Word joy is coming in the morning.
“2O LORD my God, I cried unto thee,
and thou hast healed me. 3O LORD, thou hast brought up my soul from the grave: thou hast kept me alive, that I
should not go down to the pit. 4Sing unto the LORD, O ye saints of his, and give thanks at the remembrance of his
holiness. 5For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy
cometh in the morning.” (Psalms 30: 2-5 KJV)
29For
thou art my lamp, O LORD: and the LORD will lighten my darkness. 30For by thee I have run through a troop: by my
God have I leaped over a wall. 31As for God, his way is perfect; the word of the LORD is tried: he is a buckler
to all them that trust in him. 32For who is God, save the LORD? And who is a rock, save our God? 33God
is my strength and power: and he maketh my way perfect. 34He maketh my feet like hinds' feet: and setteth me upon
my high places. 35He teacheth my hands to war; so that a bow of steel is broken by mine arms. 36Thou
hast also given me the shield of thy salvation: and thy gentleness hath made me great. 37Thou hast enlarged my
steps under me; so that my feet did not slip. (II Samuel 22:29-37)
