The Rev. Michael Devon Lyles is currently serving as Pastor of the Morningstar Baptist Church in Charlotte, NC.  He is also a proud product of Dr. Robert H. Leak and the New St. John Baptist Church in Charlotte, NC.  Pastor Lyles is the husband to one Shenera Lyles, father of Justyce Lyles and the God-father to Miss Aleijah Moore.

            Pastor Lyles received his calling to prepare for ministry at the age of 16 in June 1997 in Houston, Texas. He began his preaching ministry in November of 2000 at Redemption Christian Ministries in Charlotte, NC (Bishop LeRoy K. Dunlap – Pastor), was licensed as a minister of the Gospel by Dr. Leak & the New St. John Church Family on September 16, 2001, and was Ordained as a minister of the Gospel by Moderator Dr. Larry Whitley and the Mecklenburg General Baptist Association on April 16, 2005.  Pastor Lyles is currently pursuing studies at Shaw University in Kannapolis, NC., a product of Metrolina Theological Seminary in Charlotte, NC. where he has received a number of certificates, and also a graduate of David W. Butler of Matthews, NC.  He also attends the University of the Holy Spirit where he has received his BA, DD, and PHD. 

 Pastor Lyles is not only active in the church, but also very active in the Charlotte community; an inspiration to both the young and the old people.  Pastor Lyles works closely with the youth of the Simmons YMCA as a volunteer mentor, the CAA (Christian Athletic Association) as an athletic director, and the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department “Gang of One” Project.  He is also one of the founders and an active supporter of (YMC) Young Musicians for Christ.
